Duck Club Bourbon

Built around waterfowl hunting traditions and early mornings in the field, Duck Club Bourbon has made a serious splash among outdoorsmen and whiskey fans alike. With country music star Riley Green behind the brand, sourced bourbon from some familiar names, and a partnership that supports wetland conservation, there is more to Duck Club than a good looking bottle. Here’s who owns it, where the whiskey comes from, and what you’ll find in each bottle.

Who Owns Duck Club Bourbon

Country music star and avid hunter Riley Green co-founded Duck Club Bourbon with McCauley Williams of Morningside Brands. Known to his fans as the ‘Duckman’, Riley is far more than just a celebrity face on the label.

Growing up hunting in Alabama, Riley wanted a whiskey that genuinely fit his lifestyle. He took a hands on role in crafting the brand, spending time tasting through barrel samples to select the final blends, guiding the retro packaging art to resemble vintage outdoor magazines, and partnering directly with Ducks Unlimited to donate proceeds toward North American wetland conservation.

Where Is Duck Club Bourbon Sourced?

Like many of the best modern whiskey outfits, Duck Club operates as a non-distiller producer (NPD). That means they source aged barrels from premier operations rather than distilling everything in house. They primarily draw their liquid out of Kentucky, partnering with top tier legacy producers like Green River Distilling Company, JIM Beam & Bardstown Bourbon Company, while blending in select Indiana stock. This approach allows them to bottle well aged, high quality liquid right out of the gate.

The Duck Club Bourbon Lineup

Duck Club Flagship Bourbon

  • Proof: 92 proof
  • Mash Bill: A unique four grain blend featuring 88 percent five year Kentucky straight bourbon (67 percent corn, 23 percent rye, 10 percent malted barley) and 12 percent six year wheated Indiana bourbon (51 percent corn, 45 percent wheat, 4 percent malted barley).
  • Flavor Profile: This is the everyday pour of the lineup. The touch of wheated bourbon softens the rye spice, delivering rich notes of maple syrup, brown sugar, sweet corn, and toasted oak. It is extremely smooth and easy drinking after a long day in the field.

Duck Club High Brass Bourbon

  •  Proof: 110 proof
  •  Mash Bill: A high-proof blend of two straight Kentucky bourbons. It combines 81.5 percent five-year Kentucky bourbon (67 percent corn, 23 percent rye, 10 percent malted barley) with 18.5 percent eight-year Kentucky bourbon (75 percent corn, 15 percent rye, 10 percent malted barley). The net blend works out to roughly 68.5 percent corn, 21.5 percent rye, and 10 percent malted barley.
  •  Flavor Profile: Named after high brass shotgun shells that carry extra punch, this bottle brings big flavor. Sitting at 110 proof, it opens up with aromas of toasted nuts and vanilla bean. On the palate, you get warm cinnamon funnel cake, cornbread, and dark brown sugar with a long, spicy finish that stays remarkably smooth.

Ducks Unlimited

The third release in the Duck Club series for Ducks Unlimited stands as a celebrated fusion of fine whiskey craftsmanship and a deep commitment to conservation. Masterfully matured to capture a rich, complex profile, this expression opens with inviting aromas of toasted oak, dark honey, and warm baking spices, yielding to a velvety palate layered with vanilla bean, ripe stone fruit, and subtle leather before settling into a long, satisfying finish. Crafted as both a prized pour for waterfowl enthusiasts and whiskey collectors alike, each bottle directly supports Ducks Unlimited’s vital mission to conserve, restore, and manage North America’s wetlands, ensuring that a passion for exceptional spirits continues to protect the wild places where wildlife thrives.

Duck Club Bourbon clearly knows who it’s for. The hunting inspired branding may be what catches your eye first, especially if you spend your fall mornings in a duck blind, but there is legitimately sourced whiskey behind the label and some interesting blends in the lineup. Add Riley Green’s genuine connection to hunting and the partnership with Ducks Unlimited, and the brand feels like more than another celebrity bourbon trying to capitalize on a famous name. If the whiskey in the bottle continues to deliver, Duck Club may have found a pretty good place for itself at the intersection of bourbon and the outdoors.
